Nick and Alysha

Nick and Alysha met in the bay area, CA at a church event in the summer of 2006. They fell in love fast and were engaged that December. Nick and Alysha have a very deep love for one another and are the best of friends. They were married on August 11, 2007 and moved to Hawaii to attend school at BYU-H. They have been living in Hawaii ever since. They like to go to the beach, do activities outside, watch movies and be with each other. These two kids are always out in about on their own adventures.

About Alysha:
Alysha likes to be active, go to the beach, shop and cook yummy healthy meals for her husband. She is a licensed cosmetologist now going to school to get her degree in Elementary Education.

About Nick:
Nick is 27 years old. He likes football (go Cowboys!), being outside and eating good food. Nick is a very chill dude with a great sense of humor. He graduated  from Benicia High in California in 2002. Nick played football and baseball all four years of high school. Nick went to a junior college and worked with his dad in construction after he graduated. When Nick was 20 years old he served a mission for the LDS church for 2 years in Chile. He is fluent in Spanish and has a great appreciation for that culture. Nick graduated from BYU-H with a degree in international business management in 2009. Nick now works as an estimator for a construction company in Hawaii.

In August of 2010, Nick was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma stage 4. Nick had been noticing that something was "wrong" for a few months before he was diagnosed. He was having lower back pain for over 6 months. In July he started to have very intense night sweats every night. In August he was noticing a difference in his appearance, he looked thinner and felt weak. Then he felt the lumps in his neck and the doctors decided to do a biopsy. The results came back positive. Nick was in for surgery the next day to remove some of the lymph to determine the cancer and the type. Nick had many tests, procedures and scans the next few weeks. Nick has been very strong and positive throughout this whole process. Nick and Alysha trust in God and know He has a plan.
